Lloyd Roberts is a 1981 graduate of University of Bridgeport Law School (now Quinnipiac Law School) and is admitted to the New York State bar.  He attained the majority of his foundational litigation experience with the personal injury law firm of Schneider Kleinick & Weitz, where he worked with Gregory J. Cannata from 1985 through 2001. Upon leaving Schneider, Kleinick & Weitz, Mr. Roberts continued his career with another plaintiff’s litigation firm, and then in his own private practice, which focused on conducting depositions in all types of personal injury actions. 

 

In 2007, Mr. Roberts once again teamed up with Mr. Cannata at Gregory J. Cannata & Associates.   He currently litigates cases which involve very severe personal injuries to our clients, including those that stem from construction accidents, motor-vehicle accidents, premises liability accidents, products liability accidents, and accidents arising from the negligent acts and omissions of municipal defendants, such as the City of New York, the Board of Education, and the New York City Transit Authority.

 

Other actions which Mr. Roberts litigates include those where our clients have been seriously injured as a result of the commission of intentional torts, violations of the Dram Shop Act (where damages were sustained through the intentional and/or negligent actions of persons who were served alcohol by defendant establishments, when they were visibly intoxicated), and police misconduct.  

 

Mr. Roberts personally handles his cases through all phases of litigation, with hands-on involvement during all investigations, discovery and inspection, court conferences, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations.   

 

Over the course of his legal career, Mr. Roberts’ skilled case preparation has resulted in the law firm attaining many successful jury verdicts for our clients. He has also effectively negotiated numerous settlements totaling millions of dollars.
