Mr. Irwin was born and raised in Syracuse, New York.  After graduating 1997 with a B.A. in Sociology with Honors from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, Mr. Irwin moved to the New York City area to pursue his Juris Doctorate degree from Hofstra University School of Law.  Mr. Irwin graduated from Hofstra University School of Law in December of 1999. Shortly after graduation, Mr. Irwin began his legal career as an Attorney with the Plaintiff’s Negligence Firm of Krause & Krause. After approximately one year at Krause & Krause, Mr. Irwin was named Managing Attorney of the Firm, becoming one of the youngest Managing Attorneys in New York City at the age of twenty-nine.

In January of 2002, Mr. Irwin became the first attorney hired by Gregory J. Cannata & Associates. Since Mr. Irwin joined the Firm he has worked in nearly every area of Plaintiff’s Negligence practice, including automobile accidents, construction accidents, medical malpractice cases, product liability cases, municipal liability cases, sidewalk accidents, lead paint, premises liability, sexual assault, assault, maritime accidents, and elevator accidents. Mr. Irwin and Mr. Cannata have worked together closely on numerous cases, having gone to trial together on several large and complicated cases.  Mr. Cannata and Mr. Irwin have had great success together for their clients and have worked to obtain numerous settlements in excess of one million dollars.

In his free time Mr. Irwin has become actively involved in judicial politics in New York City, working to ensure that his clients come before fair, impartial, and competent Judges.  Mr. Irwin sat as a member of the New York County Independent Judicial Screening Panel in 2003, screening seated Judges for re-election and Judicial candidates. Mr. Irwin is also an active member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and is a former Secretary of the Medical Malpractice Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and the former Chairman of its Diversity Sub-Committee.

In 2009, Mr. Irwin became "Of Counsel" to Gregory J. Cannata & Associates and continues to work on the firm's cases while he pursues other interests.
